Now the sea worm has dried out and become a hollow shell of its former self, constantly seeking fresh meat for it to devour. Deprived of its previous food source, Crab and Shark meat, it devoured all of the inhabitants of the now dried up sea kingdom. This event caused the great sea worm, now known as the Desert Scourge, to go on a rampage. After the core is killed his bones will explode dramatically and he will drop a lot of good loot.Desert Scourge Lore: When the Sea King, Amidias refused to partake in the forbidden ritual to awaken the Moon Lord/The Dark Lord from his slumber and imprisonment on the moon the Jungle Tyrant King, Yharim had the witch Calamitas evaporate all of the seas water with fire and brimstone. Each time an eye is killed an invulnerable entity will spawn that can damage you, and a spiky cavity will replace the eye. Killing the forehead eye will disable the deathray. This does about 200 damage if it hits the player.
He also has the Deathray, which will be fired from its forehead eye. He has a variety of different attacks which do small damage but in very high quantity. The core is invulnerable until the other three have been killed. It has four separate entities with separate health bars: The hands (For 30,000 or so), The forehead (for 40,000 or so), and the Core for 50,000. After all four pillars are killed it will spawn after giving the player a minute or so to prepare. Ichor is recommended as it will increase your effectiveness. As far as gear for this one, definitely use Hallowed Armor, a good melee weapon for the first part, and a Megashark for the last part. He will drop a Grenade Launcher and perhaps another powerful weapon. A large open arena is also recommended, so that you will be able to maintain a distance from his second form. If you leave the jungle or if you go above ground, he will become Enraged, which triples his damage, health, and speed, so it is crucial to remain in the Underground Jungle. This fight is recommended to be done in an open arena underground in the jungle. When he hits 50% health, his bulb will pop open to reveal a hideous monster capable of extremely high contact damage. These spike wheels will not begin until he has reached 75% health. He will attempt to stay near you, moving slowly and shooting spores and spiky wheels at the player. HE must be fought in the Jungle and FAR FROM SUNLIGHT. At this point Hallowed gear is basically required. This boss cannot be fought until after defeating all three mechanical bosses.
